MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The future of the Mid-South Fairgrounds is the focus of a Midtown community meeting Wednesday. There's a plan to redevelop the land and possibly demolish the Mid-South Coliseum.

The plan calls for the building of a new retail center, a facility for kids, and a brand new hotel.

Those in favor of the plan says redevelopment will give Memphis a major financial boost.

The meeting, which is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. at the Circuit Playhouse, will work to answer Memphians' questions about the plan.

If you want to be considered for a speaking slot, send an email to tcbmem@gmail.com.

There's also talk of turning the Coliseum into the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. A Facebook page supporting the idea has more than 750 "likes" as of Wednesday morning.
