MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Family and friends came together to remember the second child hit and killed by a car Saturday afternoon.
Dozens gathered for a candlelight vigil in Raleigh.
Darryl Howard, 11, died this week after his family decided to discontinue life support.
His mother brought a large stuffed animal to leave at the memorial and is remembering the good things about her son.
"He loved football, Pokemon cards," Barbra Howard, Darryl's mother, recalled. "He loved being goofy and making everyone laugh. So, he would brighten up your day. He had the biggest smile."
The boy's friend, Joshua McDowell, also died in the crash.
Police say Sparkel Hastings was driving erratically before her car went onto the sidewalk.
