Durham to fire school bus driver accused of hit-and-run

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Durham School Services will fire a bus driver accused of leaving the scene of a crash on Friday.

The bus company confirmed with WMC Action News 5 that the accident at Almo Avenue and Knightway Road did happen. The investigation is ongoing, but the driver will no longer work for Durham School Services.

Chopper 5 captured the aftermath of the crash. Police say the bus hit a silver truck. The driver of that truck was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition.

This is the latest in a series of incidents with Durham buses in Shelby County. WMC Action News 5 tracked more than 40 accidents this school year.
