MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - International Paper will permanently close two recycling plants, including one in Memphis.
The company says the plants in Memphis, Tennessee and Denver, Colorado will close before the end of March.
Twenty-five employees at each location will lose their jobs.
"We recognize the significant impact on our team members and their families," IP's general manager, Tom Cleves, said in a news release. "We will work to assist affected team members with a search for other opportunities within our company, and with outplacement services, severance pay, and other benefits."
No other other IP operations based in Memphis will be affected by the two recycling plant closures.
