MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A recent Facebook post by the Memphis Police Department shows a little love can go a long way.
Over the weekend, Sergeant Mark Wojcicki responded to an alarm at the Bellevue Baptist Church, which went off when a member accidentally walked through a wrong door during rehearsal.
Church members explained the situation and asked if the officer would like to stay and listen to their rehearsal.
While the members of the church were singing, the officer sat down with a little girl and explained, "We need to love everybody because they're God's children."
The officer said the girl asked him about fighting bad guys.
"She says, 'There are some people at school who are really mean to me, would you shoot them?'" Wojcicki recalled. "And I said, 'Well, that's not what the Bible tells us to do to people who are mean to us.' I said, 'In Matthew, Chapter 5, it says to love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.'"
Sergeant Wojcicki read some scripture with the girl and left by saying, "Good night, and God bless you."
