MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A vehicle hit a cyclist at the intersection of Josephine Street and Southern Avenue. Police say the driver fled the scene.

Chopper 5 caught the victim lying in the road on camera, surrounded by first responders and witnesses. The man was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition, according to police.

Witnesses say the man was riding his bike in the middle of Southern Avenue when a driver turned onto Josephine Street, hitting the man.

The victim's sister is outraged that the driver didn't stay on the scene.

"The way you did by him was ridiculous," said Lorraine Baugh, the victim's sister. "You picked him up after you hit him and threw him down like he was an animal. So, I'm angry. He needs to be caught and prosecuted."

Baugh says her brother has a broken shoulder, arm, and injuries to his face.
