MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The stabbing suspect involved in a standoff with Memphis police on Thursday is in jail.

According to police, Terry Burch stabbed a woman in the 3200 block of Sinclair Lane around 2 p.m. The victim was taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment.

WMC Chopper 5 was over the scene as police were able to rescue another person from the house around 5 p.m.

Police were not letting anyone into the neighborhood during the almost five-hour standoff. Michele Miller was unable to get into her home.

"My kids are hungry, I'm hungry. Like I said, we have been at work since five o'clock this morning. So I'm livid right now," said Miller.

Police say the Burch was shot with a non-lethal round after hours of negotiating.

Burch is charged with aggravated assault and is due in court Monday morning.
