CBU students face disciplinary action after a night of drinking

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Christian Brothers University campus police launched an investigation after at least one student was involved in a possible alcohol poisoning incident off-campus that sent one person to the hospital.

WMC Chopper 5 was over CBU around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, when several ambulances and a fire truck were on campus.

Campus police interviewed a female CBU student who was in a truck with the man who was taken to Regional One for treatment.

According to campus police, the man is expected to be OK and is being kept in the hospital for observation.

Police did not confirm if the man was a CBU student.

The drinking took place off-campus, but officers say it violates student policy and all the students involved will face disciplinary action through the dean of students.

WMC Action News 5 is working to find out if any of the people involved were underage and where they were drinking.
