WEST MEMPHIS, AR (WMC) - A legendary rocker helped kick-off the grand opening of a multi-million dollar expansion at Southland Gaming and Racing in West Memphis, Arkansas.
The $38 million addition of 41,000 square feet is designed to help Southland Park keep up with its loyal customer base, which grew when floods shut down Tunica County casinos in 2011.
A floating guitar chandelier, bacon wrapped cocktails, nearly 300 brand new games, and legendary rocker Sammy Hagar, are just some of what people were able to see Friday afternoon when the doors opened at the newly renovated facility.
Hager cut the ribbon and opened the doors of his new Red Rocker Bar and Grill. The restaurant will feature meals and treats designed by Hagar's favorite celebrity chefs and signature drinks, including a BLT Bloody Mary with a bacon wrapped rim.
If eating a full meal isn't on your menu, Southland says it has specially created bar food items, all featured on an amp-shaped menu.
All this comes with a brand new facade with active LED lights to greet you and expanded valet parking.
