MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The third and final suspect in a crime spree that included the senseless killing of a dog will spend 55 years in prison.

Deshaun Hampton will join his partners in crime, Devonta Hampton and Matthew Tyler, who are both serving 30+ year prison sentences.

The young men are connected to a string of nearly 30 felonies committed in May 2012 near Cherry Crest Apartments.

During at least two of those crimes, the trio had their cell phones recording video.

The video shows the men shooting a pit bull chained behind a gate in a car repair shop.

The dog's owner, David Sanchez, told WMC Action News 5 he's glad the three killers are off the streets.

"I feel sad because they shot my dog," Sanchez said in Spanish. "He wasn't able to defend himself."

Sanchez went on to blame the three men for terrorizing the neighborhood. He says everyone who lives nearby is happy to be able to walk the streets again.

If Deshaun serves his full sentence for killing the dog, shooting at a security guard, and invading several homes, he'll be in prison until he's 73 years old.
