1 person killed, 1 injured in Valentine's Day shooting

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis police were called to a shooting around 8 p.m. on Valentine's Day in the 700 block of North Hollywood Street.

Officers found a man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds. He died on the scene. Another man was found with a gunshot wound and was taken to Regional Medical Center in non-critical condition.

The fatally wounded man was seen around the injured man's garage in the 600 block of McConnell Street, according to police.

The homeowner confronted the man, who then ran. The homeowner chased him.

The injured man's wife drove around searching for him when she saw him in the 700 block of N. Hollywood yelling for help.

She saw the man seen around their garage on top of her husband, beating him with an object. After telling the man to stop beating her husband, the woman fired several shots, fatally wounding the man.

No charges have been filed, as police continue their investigation.

Police have not positively identified the man who died.
