MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Several airlines canceled flights to and from Memphis due to the wintry weather hitting the Mid-South and other parts of the nation.

At least 36 departures and 21 arrivals have been canceled at Memphis International Airport due to the ice and snow, according to Glen Thomas with Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority.

MEM crews are working to keep runways clear of snow and ice. Airfields are open, but several airlines opted to cancel flights.

Thomas advises passengers to check with the airlines, since they will have the most up to date scheduling information.
