MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Three officers involved in a fatal Whitehaven shooting in February were identified Sunday night.
On February 10, Memphis police officers Jeremy Alexander, 27, Allan Thomasson, 27, and Matthew Smith, 30, went to a home in the 4500 block of Aldridge Drive to find a suspect wanted for aggravated assault.
Police say they found Anthony Bess, 48, with his hands behind his back. He refused to show his hands, and then pulled out a gun and pointed it at the officers.
A preliminary investigation revealed one shot was fired by an officer, which hit Bess. He later died in the hospital.
Allan Thommasson was hit in the arm by one of his fellow officers. He was released from the hospital the next day.
