MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Fires destroyed two Memphis homes overnight Sunday and Monday.

The first fire began at house near Macon and Mullins Station roads around 10:30 Sunday night.

Flames and smoke could be seen shooting from the roof. No one was home at the time and no one was hurt. The official cause of the fire has not been determined.

The second fire started in the 800 block of Carson Street. Firefighters told WMC Action News 5 it appeared an arsonist was to blame for this house fire, which started around 12:30 Monday morning.

Flames were shooting from the roof when the WMC Action News 5 crew arrived on the scene. No one was hurt in this fire.

Investigators are now trying to figure out if these two fires are related.
