MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police say Antwan Johnson lured three people with Craigslist ads to rob them at gunpoint.
One woman said, "It's scary."
One of the robberies happened behind her house. "It was several people coming here. I was telling them this is a scam, the police said it was a scam."
It was a crime instead.
Police say Johnson lured one victim behind the woman's home by saying the front door was blocked by furniture, and that he needed to come behind the house to buy the cell phones.
The victim was shot at when he ran off.
Another victim was told the same story about the furniture at an address just a few streets away. That victim was robbed of $1,200, a bank card, an iPhone, and an ID.
Another victim put an ad on Craigslist to buy a Kubota lawn mower. He got a call from a woman who said she had one for $3,000. When the man showed up to buy it, he was robbed of $45 and two cell phones.
Johnson is behind bars on a $200,000 bond.
