OXFORD, MS (WMC) - Interstate 55 and Highway 278 in Mississippi were both covered in snow, making for a slippery, and in some cases dangerous commute Wednesday.
"Lost traction, couldn't get it back across the road," said Rodreicus Hunt.
Hunt says he has helped pull cars from the median and the side of the road all day.
"We are just out in the back roads looking for people in ditches," said Hunt.
Not everyone battled the roads; some people decided to stay home and have fun.
And though the city of Oxford almost completely shut down because of the weather, the Ole Miss Rebel Basketball Team did not cancel their game against Georgia.
"Ole Miss always plays-- rain, sleet, snow," said Stacie Davidson, who was on her way to watch the game.
Some fans like Stephen Harper drove two hours to the coliseum, a drive he says was slippery. He promises to take it slow on the way back home.
"Drive right, drive slow, and it will be okay," Harper advised.
