MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - The Memphis Police Department confirmed three people were found dead at an apartment complex near Mt. Moriah and Mendenhall roads.
According to police, a man and two women were found during a welfare check around 1:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon at Eden at Watersedge.
Malvin Abbott works near the complex.
"We were a little horrified you know. Bad things happen every day," said Abbott. "This was kind of out there. Wasn't anything anyone was expecting to get off work especially on a Thursday and find out."
It is not clear when the victims, whose names and ages are not known at this time, actually died.
If police determine the incident to be a murder-suicide, it will be the second to occur in Memphis in one week. On Monday night, police found the body of 83-year-old Reginald Maclin and his 83-year-old wife, Thelma, in their home on West Frank Avenue.
Investigators say Maclin shot his wife then himself.
This is an ongoing investigation. If you have any information that could assist police, please call Crime Stoppers at (901) 528-CASH.
