MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Police arrested three men in connection with the kidnapping of a pawn shop owner and the robbery of several guns taken from the victim's Hickory Hill pawn shop.
According to police, Charlton Beasley confessed to stealing several guns from the Big Daddy's Pawn Shop on Thursday.
The pawn shop's owner told police that while he was at home in Olive Branch, he was approached by Beasley, who forced him into his truck while wearing a black mask with a white face on the front. The victim was told to drive to the pawn shop where he let the robber inside.
Police say after forcing the victim and an employee inside the store, Beasley stole several guns then forced them back into the owner's truck. He eventually ordered them to get out and stole the truck to get away.
Police later found the truck at the Texaco at Winchester Road and Emerald Street. A man who fit the robber's description, who was later identified as Beasley, was found walking in the area. He then pointed out two men in a car and said they were supposed to pick him up.
Police stopped the car with Koderrius Richmond and Daniel Warren inside. Richmond was arrested after he told police he helped plan the robbery and kidnapping. He also said he scouted the area and watched it happen. Warren is charged with being there while the robbery was planned and giving Beasley the gun used in the robbery.
Beasley is charged with aggravated robbery, carjacking, using a firearm with intent to commit a felony, and especially aggravated kidnapping.
After making the arrests, police recovered the guns stolen from the pawn shop.
