The Grizz lost at home Friday night, but in FedExForum before the game — the team lost a huge fan.

Now, Clyde Johnson, Sr.'s family wants the world to know the inspiring life he led.

"Daddy's the king of the family." said Wanda Leonard. "I don't want him known as the 70-year-old man that had a heart attack at the FedExForum."

Leonard and her younger sister and brother want people to remember Johnson for the selfless man she says he really was.

"Very family oriented, strong work ethic and just a loving man," added Leonard.

Leonard says her father was at the arena with his wife and son, celebrating his son's birthday. The family says they want to forget what happened inside on Friday.

"It was a traumatic hit to us because it was so unexpected," Leonard noted.

Their father, who loved sports and animals, had a passion for motivating his family and lived to give back to others.

"If someone was in need, he gave it, he gave it," said Leonard.

He also gave more than three decades of service to Allied Waste.

His family hopes not to retire the bond they'll forever share and the importance of family.

Leonard noted, "We're going to miss him but we'll see him again. We'll see him again."

Representatives from the FedExForum issued the following statement:

"Prior to tonight's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, a fan suffered a medical emergency. Paramedics and medical personnel at FedExForum responded immediately. The organization has since been informed of his passing."

The Grizzlies also released a statement noting that their thoughts were with the family of the deceased.
