MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis Police Department and Tennessee Highway Patrol investigators, as well as United States Postal inspectors say they tracked a package containing fraudulent credit card information.

The package led them to Renaldo Jackson's house on Cameron Ridge Trail, near Houston Levee Road. There, investigators say Jackson locked a woman and her three children in a closet and started burning evidence in his fireplace.

Investigators eventually arrested Jackson and brought the rest of the family to safety.

Highway Patrol would not comment on the ongoing investigation, but Jackson is currently in jail on a $150,000 bond. He faces several charges of fraud, child abuse, identity theft and false imprisonment.

Meanwhile, a Memphis woman is warning others after she became the victim of multiple, unrelated cases of identity theft.

Daphne Handy says last August she mistakenly left her wallet at a Walmart on Hickory Hill Road. Police never found her wallet, but weeks later she started receiving dozens of letters from bill collectors.

Handy says fake checks with her name on them have been used across the Mid-South. Crooks also used her social security number to open credit cards and bank accounts.

"I'm seven months pregnant. This has been stressful towards my pregnancy, toward my business," said Handy. "I own my own small business, I can't event write a check in my name."

Handy is working with both the Memphis Police Department and Olive Branch Police department find the people who stole her identity, and fears she may have to apply for a new social security card.
