Kaylan Pugh wins Class A Miss Basketball

NASHVILLE, TN (WMC) - Kaylan Pugh from St. Mary's is named the Division II-A Miss Basketball for 2015. The other two finalists were Anna Jones of University School of Jackson and Micah Scheetz from Webb School of Knoxville.

Pugh is a 5'9”, senior, guard/forward for the Turkeys. She is a five year starter who averages 29.2 points, six rebounds, three assists, and four steals per game. She shoots 70%-percent from the field, 26-percent from three-point range, and 67-percent from the free throw line.

She is a five-time All-District selection and was named District Player of the year this season and last season.

Kaylan has been a four-time Commercial Appeal “Best of the Preps” selection. She has scored over 2,700 points in her career at St. Mary's. This is the third time she has been named a finalist for the Miss Basketball Award.
