MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Police responded to a shooting at the Classic Soulz night club, located in the 1000 block of East Brooks Road, early Sunday morning.

When officers responded to the club, they found a woman who had been shot outside. She was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Another man who had been shot twice was taken to the hospital in non-critical condition by a private vehicle.

According to police, the club managers kicked two groups of people out for fighting inside the business. Once in the parking lot, several people grabbed guns from their cars and started shooting at one another.

The woman, who police say did not appear to be involved in the fight, was shot while standing in the doorway.

A man suspected in the shooting was taken to the hospital for injuries he sustained during the fight that happened inside the club. He is in non-critical condition.

Officers arrested two men: 24-year-old James Morton and a 26-year-old whose identity has not been released.

According to an affidavit, Morton is a convicted felon. He pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment in 2001 for which he spent one year in jail.
