MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Here we go again…another shot at some winter weather on Wednesday into Wednesday night. But it's not set in stone this far out. Here is what we know and what we don't know. We will have a roller coaster of temperatures for the first half of the week. Here's a quick summary of what to expect through mid-week.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy and chilly with temperatures in the 40s. Some showers are possible early, but mainly in North Mississippi. I think it will be dry for much of the day.

MONDAY NIGHT: Temperatures will actually go up into the 50s as a warm front moves up from the south. We could see some rain as it passes overnight into early Tuesday.

TUESDAY WARM-UP: It may dry for a portion of the day but windy and warmer with highs in the 60s by late afternoon/early evening.

TUESDAY NIGHT: Rain, heavy at times as front approaches. Temps start dropping by morning.

WEDNESDAY WINTRY MIX? We will go from the 50s overnight to the 30s by late morning. The front will move southeast but the models all keep moisture lingering behind it as the cold air moves in at the surface. This would set the stage for freezing rain. Colder air would eventually fill in the entire atmosphere changing it to all snow before ending. This is not the “typical” way we get freezing rain and snow here in the Mid-South. Usually, the moisture moves out before the cold air moves in, but the models have been very consistent with this threat for a few days now. Most are showing some accumulation of ice and snow. I still think this will likely change as we get closer to Wednesday and I hope it does.

Spring begins in three weeks and it can't get here soon enough. Ron and Andrew will have more updates on this potential for winter weather. Be sure and check back for updates.
