MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Twenty-seven children were evacuated from Jo Ann's Daycare when it caught fire Monday.

"I seen all the police and ambulances come past me on the way to get my son, not knowing they were coming here," said grandfather Michael McCullough.

McCullough rushed to pick up his four-year-old grandson after his daughter called him.

"Oh man, it was nerve-wracking I tell you," McCullough commented.

All 27 children got out safely. Frantic parents arrived, not knowing what to expect.

"It was pretty scary, but everything worked out," said father Kenneth Jackson. "Everything worked out."

Police and fire officials say the daycare holds frequent fire drills, and that's why everyone was able to get out okay.

Investigators say an unattended candle in the office sparked the blaze.
