SHELBY COUNTY, TN (WMC) -

Shelby County Schools kicked off Destination 2025 Wednesday.

Superintendent Dorsey Hopson says his ambitious 80/90/100 percent strategic plan will impact students committed to college and career education paths.

Cummins Elementary hosts Hopson Wednesday morning as he highlights his goals and priorities for ensuring that 80 percent of students graduation college or career ready, 90 percent of seniors graduate on time, and 100 percent of students enroll in post-secondary opportunities by 2025.

The plan is designed to not only improve the quality of education in Shelby County but also create a more knowledgeable workforce. Hopson hopes the plan will also contribute to a stronger future for the entire community.

Wednesday Hopson will also announce exciting new incentive partnerships with iHeartMedia and the Memphis Grizzlies.

Community and political leaders are expected to attend the event Wednesday morning at 9:30 at Cummins Elementary.
