DESOTO COUNTY, MS (WMC) - According to Entergy's outage map, 5,700 Entergy customers in DeSoto County were without power on Thursday morning. Most of the outages were north of Goodman Road, west of Interstate 55, in the Horn Lake area.

There were around 850 people in Panola County, and a few hundred people in Tunica and Coahoma counties without power.

In Crittenden County, AR, around 1,100 Entergy customers were in the dark. Click here to see the current Entergy outage map. 

Almost 500 extra workers and trucks drove to North Mississippi from across the region to help restore electricity.

Extra crews are also on standby for Northcentral Mississippi Electric. Crews have stocked trucks and have fresh utility poles ready in case lines and limbs get knocked down.

Memphis Light, Gas, and Water reported very few outages affecting about 52 homes and businesses without power. Click here to see the current MLGW outage map.
