MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

State crews are working to fill potholes left behind by wintry weather, but Memphis workers are a little behind after the recent snow and ice.

"I've been dodging potholes on Southern, on Highland, on Poplar," said Larry Rolfe. "We probably passed four or five of them."

It didn't take WMC Action News 5's Michael Clark long to find bumps on side streets, as well busy roads like Germantown Parkway.

"They seem like they just put some gravel over them and fix them for a minute and next year, they're right back," Pete Tumminia said.

On I-40, state transportation workers are already working to fill holes while City of Memphis crews work to clear the roads of snow and ice.

"It does take some time, but it's great that they work so hard," said Amy Doza.

City of Memphis says its public works department will be working overtime the next 30 days to fix potholes. To report a pothole, call 901-636-6500.
