MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Brianna Letney, who is 18 months old, survived a house fire that burned 85 percent of her body after her stepfather jumped in to save her life.

That same man is now wanted by police and Tennessee Department of Children's Services is taking a closer look into what really went on inside the house before the fire started one month ago.

Jennifer Letney says she is ready to take her daughter home and give her the best life possible, but she says since the fire, she's at risk of losing custody of her daughter.

"I just want her to be the best little girl she can be," Jennifer said.

While DCS is opening up an investigation into the family, they won't reveal much about it.

"Due to privacy and confidentiality concerns, the department cannot discuss whether a family has history with the department (except in cases where there has been a child death)," said Rob Johnson, DCS communications director.

Brianna has undergone four surgeries in Cincinnati since the fire.

"Tim, her dad did save her life," Jennifer cried. "He didn't walk out that house without his daughter."

Timothy Bolden is now wanted by Memphis Police Department on prior charges connected to a burglary and a petition to revoke a suspended sentence.

Jennifer is hoping that when they return to Memphis following Brianna's treatment, she can rebuild the household that she says is being torn apart.

"When I get back to Memphis, my plans are finding us a home so the kids can be back, happy," she said.

Brianna's family says the warrant for Tim's arrest was issued because he missed a probation meeting while he was in the hospital recovering from burns sustained in the house fire.
