MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Many of the residents at The Victorian Apartments on Overton Park near Sears Crosstown would like to watch their story on WMC Action News 5. But they can't — they haven't had electricity in almost a week.

It started when a city sewer backed up, sending more than four feet of water into the basement of the apartments. It receded and maintenance man, Joe Reagan, cleaned everything and got the hot water heaters working again.

“I was trying to get people hot water at least," said Reagan.

Then, the basement flooded again and Memphis Light Gas and Water had to cut the electricity to the building. In addition to the power being gone, the hot water was gone too.

The hands of management company Makowsky Ringel Greenberg, LLC are tied as the city attempts to figure out what is causing the back up.

Reagan added, ”It's frustrating to me because all of these residents, they're frustrated and there's nothing absolutely nothing I can do."
