SELMA, AL (WMC) -

It's been a very emotional weekend full of history for many people in Selma, Alabama.

Many Memphians visiting the city say the experience was life-changing.

"It's not just a moment in time that we come when we just come and celebrate, but this time for us to just renew our energies around this and keep the fight going," said Memphian Bernice Martin.

Sunday, thousands will march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge to protest voting rights. It will be the 50th anniversary of Bloody Sunday.

"To be here, to do the bridge, to be a part of history," said Memphian Nina Staples. "History for my children, history for my family."
