MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A warrant was issued for the arrest of a man who saved his 18-month-old stepdaughter from a burning home in early February

Timothy Bolden suffered burns of his own when he rescued Brianna Letney from the house fire. While spending nearly one month in the hospital, Bolden missed a probation hearing.

Bolden, who received burns to his face, head, hands, and arms, believes he was in no condition to be placed in jail.

"I wasn't able to sit up, walk, or nothing no more when I first got discharged from the hospital," said Bolden.

After almost a month in the hospital, Bolden faces charges connected to a 2008 burglary.

"I feel like I shouldn't have to go to jail when I had the hospital fax my probation papers ahead of time before I had to go," said Bolden. "They still issued a warrant out on me."

Bolden says he was in surgery the day he was scheduled to be in the probation meeting.

He is, however, working with a lawyer and plans to turn himself in next week.
