Shelby County sheriff's deputies arrested a teenager who is accused of robbing a Bolton High School student who uses a wheelchair.

Dehndray Hall, who has cerebral palsy, was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday. He told deputies that he recognized the suspect as 18-year-old Niem Boyd, also known as “Chicago,” who is known around the Northaven community.

Hall says he was sitting in his driveway when Boyd walked up to him, pulled out a gun, and demanded that he empty his pockets.

"I wasn't expecting that," said Hall, who only had an iPhone and a few dollars. "I didn't know what might happen next.”

Hall's sister and brother called the sheriff's office, and Boyd was arrested and charged with robbery.

Hall refuses to let the incident get him down. With a big smile, he said he enjoys building things in his shop class at school and he loves sports. His favorite team is the Memphis Grizzles.

Even though Hall uses a wheelchair, he said he won't allow crime to keep him inside.

Boyd is in jail on a $25,000 bond.
