MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A seventh grader was injured after police say four kids threw rocks through the window of a school bus.

"When the rock came through the window, it was like a gunshot," said Cameron Carroll, whose face was cut by the broken window of the bus.

Carroll was riding the bus home from Hamilton Middle School when other children playing on the railroad tracks decided to throw rocks at passing cars.

One of the rocks smashed through the window next to Cameron, shattering the glass.

Memphis police officers and paramedics responded to the area of Southern Avenue and McLean Boulevard to investigate.

Cameron's mother picked him up, thankful that his injuries weren't more serious.

Police are still investigating who is responsible.

"I think they're terrible," said Cameron. "They should be punished or get a good butt whooping."
