Literacy Mid-South partnered with First Book to bring 500,000 brand new books to Mid-South kids.

In order to get those books delivered, Literacy Mid-South needs volunteers the week of March 9-13 to help them get organized.

Volunteers will help with various tasks including the organization of boxed inventory, attaching shipping labels to boxes, and preparing orders for pick-ups. Volunteers must also be able to stand for the duration of the shift and be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes (sneakers are ideal), and it is advised to dress in layers that can get dirty. Additionally, volunteers may be outside for a portion of their shifts. Please be mindful of the weather and dress accordingly.

Snacks and water will be provided for all volunteers. Lunch will be available for those that work a full day. Work gloves are encouraged, but not required.

All registered volunteers will receive a formal confirmation email with warehouse address and event details. The greatest need for help is Monday-Wednesday.
