MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis man, who worked as a campus police officer, was arrested and charged with sexual battery after an incident at Southwest Tennessee Community College.

A woman who works at the Southwest Tennessee Community College campus in Whitehaven told police officers she was cleaning a room when Albert Moses, 57, came up behind her and grabbed her breasts.

The report states that she tried to get away, but Moses got to the door first and turned off the lights. The woman claims Moses also exposed himself before she managed to escape.

She filed the report with police on Jan. 26, 2015. Moses was arrested on Tuesday, March 10.

It's a scary feeling for students.

“He's supposed to be security on the campus. You would think he would keep the campus safe for everyone," senior pre-pharmacy major Molly Chiz said,

Campus police did a background check on Albert Moses when he was hired, at which time the college performed an employment reference check. SWTCC Human Resources Executive Director Paul Thomas says the college started doing full background checks on its employees around 2005.

Moses was hired at SWTCC in 2002 as a security guard, then promoted to a campus police officer in 2005. During his promotion, the school says it performed a full background check on Moses.

WMC Action News 5's Jerry Askin uncovered that Moses was placed on a three day suspension in 2009, but was not told the reason for the suspension.

A man answered the door Moses' listed address and said he had no comment on the accusation.

Moses is currently on leave as the case is investigated. He is charged with sexual battery and is out on a $35,000 bond.
