A man is charged with murder in connection with a deadly robbery at a Memphis convenience store.

Toran Harper faces a first-degree murder charge when he heads to court on Thursday.

According to the police affidavit, the victim, Kendrick Marr, struggled with 27-year-old Harper over a gun before he was killed at the In and Out Market on Lamar Avenue on March 1.

When police arrived at the store, they found Marr in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He died on the scene.

Police say Fredrick Marr and Kendrick Marr arrived at the store in a car. Harper approached them with a gun and demanded money.

Fredrick gave up his money and ran from the car while Kendrick struggled with Harper over the gun and was shot. Harper then ran from the scene.

Police later identified him as the gunman and charged with first-degree murder and aggravated robbery.

Harper goes before a judge Thursday morning.
