MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A 15-year-old boy at Fairley High School is accused of assaulting a counselor, and some parents say they want to see more done to keep everyone safe.

Parent Lashanta Ivy noted, "That's very disrespectful. Very."

Memphis police say a female school counselor rushed to a classroom to help teachers break up a fight one Wednesday, where she says the 15-year-old was instigating the fight, yelling and cursing.

According to police, the boy walked up to the employee, told her to get out the way, eventually grabbing her arm and pushing her away from the door.

Parents say it's something that's happening all too often at Fairley High.

"They've been having a lot of fights our here is all I know," said Yolanda Johnson.

The school counselor was not hurt, as for the student, he was issued a juvenile summons for assault and disorderly conduct.

Ivy add, "They don't have respect for the adults and I think that something needs to be done about that."

Green Dot Public Schools says the school is working to figure out the appropriate action for the student and that they take all incidents seriously.
