MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A mom was terrified after she accidentally locked her keys in her new minivan, with her three-month-old twins and her toddler son still inside.

"I was very horrified, because my babies are my everything," said mother Jasmine Ballinger.

Ballinger left her van running and the AC on while she got her stroller out of the back of her car.

"After I let the latch down off the back of the van, it immediately locked," recalled Ballinger.

The Memphis Fire Department arrived to help. By using the van's antenna, officers could get one of the doors open in just a few seconds.

Ballinger says it's a lesson learned, and she hopes other parents and caretakers will learn from her mistake.

"So it's very critical to when you get a new car, learn your vehicle," Ballinger advised. "Know what it's about, but also be thankful that it has safety features."

After all of the excitement, the babies seem fine.
