MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - A Memphis mom says she went from museum visitor to victim after her car was broken into and burglarized.

Christine Russell says she visited the Pink Palace Family of Museums on Tuesday afternoon with her two daughters. When she left the museum, she says she found her car ransacked.

"They busted out crying, they were upset, they were fearful," says Russell.

Her children were not the only ones upset. Russell says she spoke with police and security at the museum about reviewing surveillance footage.

"I asked them if they could follow up and look at the video, and they told me that camera has not worked in a long time," says Russell.

Russell says both police and security officers mentioned this same thing happening multiple times in previous weeks, which is why
she wanted to speak out to warn others.

"We felt like victims, my children are scared to come back here," says Russell.

WMC Action News 5 reached out to the staff at the Pink Palace Family of Museums, but are still waiting on a response.
