MILLINGTON, TN (WMC) -

A group of residents from Kirby Pines Retirement Community decided to live life in the fast lane on Saturday at the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience in Millington.

While they didn't quite "shake and bake", residents suited up and went for a spin around the track at speeds up to 121 miles per hour.

"The seniors are just young children that are grown up," said Kirby Pines activity director Cheryl Grimes.

One special resident is no stranger to thrill seeking. Former Army jumper and former Shelby County Schools Superintendent Jim Anderson was more than prepared for the day.

When asked how he thought going 121 miles per hour would compare to being superintendent he noted, "Well, obviously there's some stress."

The race experience at Memphis International Raceway was one of many items on the resident bucket list.
