MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Memphis firefighters rescued a woman from her overturned car on North Mendenhall Road.

Around 4 p.m. Tuesday, the woman lost control of her truck and crashed into a utility pole.

It happened near the intersection of N. Mendenhall Road and Marcel Avenue.

Firefighters say they had to rescue the woman from the truck. She was taken to the hospital, but was talking to a relative on the scene as she was carried onto the ambulance.

The crash knocked out power to the area. Almost 700 people nearby were without power. MGLW crews are working to take care of the damaged power lines.
