Severe thunderstorm watch allowed to expire for western Mid-South counties

MEMPHIS, TN (AP) -

A severe thunderstorm watch expired at 2 a.m. for Mississippi County and Craighead County in Arkansas, as well as Dyer County, Tennessee. 

The main threat was small hail or gusty wind. 

Another severe thunderstorm watch expired at 3 a.m. for counties to the west across north and central Arkansas. 

That line of storms will slowly move through the Mid-South and weaken by early morning. The system will arrive closer to sunrise with weakening showers and storms. 

WMC Action News 5 Meteorologist Andrew Kozak will be tracking any storms that make it into East Arkansas or West Tennessee.
