MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A Memphis man is in jail after uploading inappropriate photos of his ex-girlfriend on the Internet.

According to Memphis Police, 22-year-old Joseph Powell posted explicit photos of his ex-girlfriend on Facebook and Instagram.

Powell's grandmother doesn't know the full details of the story, and only said Powell is still in jail.

According to police, the victim said that Powell is the father of her child, and he posted the pictures to cause embarrassment and emotional distress.

It's a form of revenge many people say happens often.

'It's very disrespectful to do that. It's just really, really bad." said Nicole Williams." "But he just had no right to even do that at all, what so ever."

Powell has an active bond for assault against his ex-girlfriend that prohibits any contact with her directly and indirectly.

Powell is charged with aggravated stalking and a violation of bond conditions after posting the private pictures.
