SOMERVILLE, TN (WMC) -

Even though Sunday was the beginning of Holy Week, it wasn't a celebration for everyone. In Somerville, Tennessee someone stole from a pastor as he gave his Palm Sunday sermon at church.

Pastor BG Brooks says Sunday marked 39 years at his church. When he left home that morning, his house alarm was on, but when family members arrived home later, the front door stood open and the back window smashed to pieces.

"My daughter called me and said 'Daddy someone broke into your house; your safe is gone.' All my shot guns, $50,000 worth of jewelry, money. Everything is gone," said Brooks.

Brooks says the alarm was also shut off using the correct code.

If anyone has any information about who may have broke in and stolen from Brooks, please call Fayette County Sheriff's Department at (901) 465-3456.
