MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - There will be a big announcement for Beale Street this Wednesday.  Not much information is confirmed, but WMC Action News 5 knows a major partnership has formed.  The New Daisy Theatre will set the scene for the marquee announcement.

"It's supposed to be big," said Blue Note Bar & Grill owner Lew Winston.

Winston's club is the only nightlife on the extreme east end of Beale Street, for now.

"By being down here by myself, I'm doing okay," said Winston. "But the more people down here means I'll do a lot better."

WMC Action News 5 knows the owners of both The New Daisy and the former Club Crave at Beale and Fourth have partnered with Live Nation.

That's the gigantic entertainment company which operates, among other things, a dozen House of Blues locations across the nation.

Those venues host a variety of live performances and even gospel brunches.  According to a news release concerning Wednesday's announcement, the head of "Live Nation's House of Blues Entertainment division" will be on hand.

However, House of Blues representative Jim Yeager later confirmed that the popular establishment will not be coming to Memphis.

"I think there should be just different choices for different people," said one Beale Street visitor.

Whatever is planned is music to Lew Winston's ears.

"Anything on this end is encouraging," said Winston.

Wednesday's announcement is scheduled 1 p.m.
