MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A shooting victim was able to identify the men who gunned him down as a father-son duo. The duo are now in custody.

Police were called to a shooting in the 3900 block of Baywind Drive on March 23, where a man was shot outside his home by two men in a van.

The victim survived and through a photo lineup, he identified the gunmen as 35-year-old Don Mathieu Jr. and his 16-year-old son Don Mathieu III.

The elder Mathieu was taken into custody and charged with attempted second-degree murder. According to police, a family friend of the Mathieus went to the Raines police station and called the 16-year-old on speaker phone, begging him to turn himself in.

Investigators say another family friend, Issac Debouse, took the phone from the 16-year-old during the call and refused to let him turn himself in. Police located Debouse at a home in Southaven, Mississippi. He was taken into custody and charged with accessory after the fact.

The father will be in court on Tuesday morning to face a judge for the attempted murder charge.
