MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

A school lockdown has been lifted after police responded to reports of a shooting near a Memphis park and school.

The shooting appears to have happened near Howse Park, Cornerstone Preparatory School, and Carpenter Art Garden.

The program director at Carpenter Art Garden told WMC Action News 5 it had 40 children outside with their after school program when the shooting happened.

According to police, Cornerstone Preparatory School was on lockdown after the incident, but that lockdown was lifted about 30 minutes later.

The director says they saw men running past the garden while firing guns. The children were immediately brought inside. Nobody was injured.

Memphis police tell WMC Action News 5 that nobody was found shot in the area. MPD is still investigating what happened.
