MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) - Memphis police say two men robbed a Lenny's Sub Shop with a shotgun in East Memphis.

Investigators released surveillance video from the robbery at the store near Hacks Cross Road and Winchester Road.

Officers say two men rushed the business around 9 p.m. on Tuesday. One of the men pointed the shotgun at the employees and demanded money from the cash registers.

They took the money they were given and were last seen running across the parking lot, away from the business.

Cedric Larock, who works nearby at Southwind Barber Shop said, "One of my customers had just come in, and saw the police down on the walkway."

"We try to make sure we are okay and protected," he explained.

This type of crime has some customers taking more precautions and facing the reality that crime is becoming a constant reality.

"Crime can happen anywhere," said Lenny's customer, O.C. Collins. "I just think that you need to be aware now that wherever you go there is crime around. We're just shocked it happened in my neighborhood, shocked it happened in this area. You're living in Memphis."

Both robbers are believed to be in their late teens to early 20s.
