MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

Mayor A C Wharton is looking for volunteers to help during the 2015 Faith in Action cleanup.

Lifeline to Success is one group answering that call, focusing on the revitalization of Frayser.

Faith in Action 2015 is a project aimed at bringing churches and communities together to clean up Memphis.

"What we want to do is make Jesus real by serving," said Lifeline to Success Director Pastor Deandre Brown. "Faith without work is dead, so this is one of our acts that shows the community that Jesus is real and we're encouraging all churches and congregations in the Frayser area to come together and do a project either around their church or they can join us on our site at 3 p.m. on that Sunday."

The Faith in Action cleanup will be held the week of Saturday, April 18 through Sunday, April 26. Anyone can participate.

Lifeline to Success identified Frayser as a target area because of the chronic issues with high grass, litter, and blighted homes.

"We've worked very diligently to change that and we're willing to support any operation that's taking place all over this city," said Brown.

Last year's cleanup brought hundreds of residents together from every corner of the city, putting the unity in community.
