Severe thunderstorm watch expires

MEMPHIS, TN (WMC) -

The severe thunderstorm watch that was issued by National Weather Service for many Mid-South counties expired at 1 a.m. Friday.

According to the WMC Action News 5 weather team, the threat for thunderstorms was the greatest around sunset into the overnight hours.

Friday is expected to be gorgeous but cooler, with plenty of sun returning, along with lighter winds and lower humidity. Highs will only reach the mid to upper 60s.
